Adopt a Pet >> Adoption Procedures

Congradulations on deciding to adopt a companion animal!

So you have found a new companion that you just have to make part of the
family. We want you to know that each and every animal adopted from our shelters is special, because you are giving that pet a second chance at life. In order to make sure our pets go to a permanent, loving home, we ask that you complete an adoption application which will help us to determine if this pet is right for you. Once you have completed the application process, we will then make arrangements to have your new pet spayed or neutered by one of our participating veterinarians. The majority of the animals in our shelters are not yet sterilized. While already neutered animals can go home right away, unsterilized animals must stay with us until the day of their veterinarian appointment. You can pick your pet up at the vet's office the same day after his or her surgery. We advise that in the first 24-48 hours the new pet is kept indoors and in a quiet area to recover from surgery and get to know the new surroundings.
