The Second Chance Fund was created in an effort to save animals that come to the shelter with injuries or disabilities that were previously too costly to rectify. Hundreds of animals have been saved since the fund was created and they have been adopted into caring families.
Often, our talented in-house vet or one of our local veterinarians can do the treatment necessary to save a life and make a difference. Sometimes a dedicated foster family is called upon to help the animal recover until it is ready for adoption. This year we are expanding this program by building a small medical ward at the shelters. This will help us save more lives by increasing the space for these pets.
The lovable three-legged dog or one-eyed cat will be forever appreciative because it was truly given a second chance.
